Where are they now?

"I have been lucky enough to have had two great careers during my working life. On leaving Oxford Brookes where I studied English Literature and Art History, I joined the BBC in London, working behind the scenes as a Production Assistant and Production Manager, sorting out all the logistics of filming and budgets; the job also involved lots of filming on location in the UK and abroad. Then, at the grand old age of 50, I decided on a complete change of direction and re-trained as a gardener and garden designer. I have been running my own gardening and design business since 2003, looking after some sixteen gardens in and around Bristol and taking on design commissions. In the last couple of years, I have branched out (!) and written gardening pieces for the Bristol Evening Post, and now run recreational gardening courses for adult education in Bristol. My next project will be planning a move to the Gloucestershire countryside, where I hope to keep bees and chickens, and spend some time seeing the rest of the world."
